Resistance is a type protection against a certain types of Damage. While Armor Class and Dodge help determine whether an attack hits or misses, Resistance determines the amount of damage that is mitigated if hit. This is measured by percent, ranging from -95% (damage added) to +95% (damage reduced).

Types of Resistance[]

Damage Resistance (DR)[]

Defines the character's protection against physical and fatigue damage; such as from weapons, traps, and some spells.

Magick Resistance (MR)[]

This is one’s innate resistance to Magick, and is similar in nature to that immunity which is provided by Technological Aptitude. (In fact, a creature with both faculties simply adds the two together, when Magick is directed against his or her person.) Unlike Technological Aptitude, however, innate resistance to Magick does not effect one’s own use of items or spells.

Fire Resistance (FR)[]

Defines the character's protection against fire damage (which also severely deteriorates armour), commonly caused by fire traps and Fire Elementals.

Poison Resistance (PR)[]

Defines the character's protection against poison damage, caused by traps and various monsters.

Electrical Resistance (ER)[]

Defines the character's protection against electrical damage, such as Bolt of Lightning spell or electrical traps.
