Welcome to the Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura Wiki sandbox!
This page exists so that you can copy an existing page and practice editing or formatting it (see Help:Editing) without changing any content of the original. You can also begin creating a new page with the Sandbox and experiment without it linking to the main wiki yet. Feel free to try wiki editing it here first. There is also a tutorial on the Central Wiki that can step you through more of the things you can do.

Best wishes!

Had trouble finding this info all in one place online. I ended up having to use thewaybackmachine to find it, so I thought I'd post it here for easy access. Sorry if the formatting isn't great, let me know if you notice anything incorrect and I'll fix it.

For him to train you as the Persuasion master, you will need to get Caladon to join the United Kingdom with Tarant. Edward will give you notes detailing what your bargaining points should be.
Once in Caladon, you need to meet up with his representative outside, who will warn you not to speak to the lobbyists.
You can speak to the lobbyists in the hall and find out what they have got to offer, this opens lots of options for “fringe benefits” as part of the negotiation.
During the negotiation, you can choose many options, combinations of which will result in a more beneficial result to yourself and Tarant (or potentially disastrous).
After the successful negotiation, you can talk with Edward Willoughsby outside, who will confer the Master status on you and give you a sizable amount of gold. You also gain a reputation as a great negotiator.

He has renounced his violent past and joined the Halycon Order and is now a pacifist. He won’t agree to train you. After you end the conversation, a halfling villager arrives. His wife has been kidnapped by the Willenbecker Gang. The leader Jessep, has finally tracked down Thorndop and wants revenge for him killing his brother, Darryl. You can offer to rescue her, and require him to train you as a reward. Follow the path and get ready for a big fight. All of the 8 gang members are quite heavily armed and ready to rumble (make sure you search the bodies after the battle for extra loot).

Getting into the prison generally requires stealth and lockpicking or brute force. Once there, talk to him and he will confer Master status on you.

Master
Location : 15 Old Kings Way, Caladon
 Person : Hieronymous Maxim
Comments : The master of Repair, Hieronymous Maxim, can be found in Caladon (on the outskirts) at 15 Old King’s Way.
When you meet him, he is down on his luck. His factory has been smashed by Half-Ogres who stole his flying machines (the same ones which shot down the Zephyr). Without proof that he actually built flying machines, he will be thrown in prison.
If you still have the damaged camera from the crash site, this has photos of the incident. If you don’t have it, you will probably have to trek back to Shrouded Hills to get it.
He will then train you and offer to make a mechanized gun if you provide him with the parts.
Editor Note - I have not confirmed this, but I am told that the camera you get in the Lethe Wyvern quest can also be used.

Master
Location : Kensignton Broadway Park
 Person : Sammie White
Comments : The master of Pick Pocketing, Sammie White, can be found in Tarant in the Kensignton Broadway park. He is the orange suited halfling.
When you talk to him, he will insult you. You need to keep insulting him back until his reaction to you increases up to 60 at which point he will talk to you more normally.
Sammie gets his kicks out insulting and embarrassing people. He will train you if you strip naked and run around the park and the main street of Tarant (to the jeers of the public and your companions).
You will gain the reputation of the pervert of Tarant for doing this and your reputation will drop (people will remember this, seemingly everywhere).
If you run a second lap naked, he will give you a Hand Cannon as a reward for being a good sport.
Editor’s Note – If you are a really ugly character (in my case a half-orc with a beauty of 1), your reputation will drop so much that people will attack you on sight. I managed to finish the game by him wearing a smoking jacket in public. I could only wear armor in dungeons so beware! (This may have been fixed from the press build).

Apprentice - the character's success is unaffected by lighting and armor penalties are halved. He can conceal himself in broad daylight as well as darkness.

You will find the second note in Room four of the Mushroom Inn. This will hint that you need to examine the bed in the room. You will find some eyeglasses. Putting them on, you will then see a new map location on the painting.
Goto the Mysterious Location, after killing a few dogs, you will find a skeleton next to a hollow stump. In this you will find a note, which tells you to look at the note in Mushroom’s bright firelight.
Go back to the Mushroom Inn and relook at the note.
It will tell you to find Albert Leeks in the Sobbing Onion. He is the half-elf dresses in light grey. He will then train you. If you are nice to him, he will give you a Ring Of Silence (+2 Prowling).

He will ask you to retrieve the staff of K’an T’au in the castle of S’nel N’fa. This castle is absolutely riddled with traps. Depending on your style you may want to leave followers outside or alternately use them for “mine detectors”.
The staff is protected by K’an Tau. Once you have killed him, the staff can be found in a chest at the back of the room. A trap door also allows quick exit from the castle.
