Location

Thorvald Two Stones can be found inside his home in the northwest portion of the Isle of Despair Penal Colony.

Circumstances and Quests

• Thorvald will explain that he is a member of the Wheel Clan, and that he was sent to the Island about a hundred years ago
• When discussion of the BMC comes up. he will state that he has no knowledge of the Black Mountain Clan's disappearance or whereabouts
• This will complete Gudmund Ore Bender's quest to Investigate the Isle of Despair
• Thorvald will then suggest a quest to get some answers at the Wheel Clan
• He will also offer another quest to Contact the Wheel Clan on his behalf and ask for rescue
• The player can decline the second quest and instead offer direct rescue by the party themselves (see below)

Recruitment

• Thorvald will join as a temporary Follower provided:
  • The Player does not have Dumb Dialogue speech
  • The player agrees to take him back to the Wheel Clan (requires 2+ ranks (9/20) of Persuasion)
  • The player is at least level 22
  • The player is not a Gnome
• He will become a regular follower provided:
  • He has accompanied the player throughout his Quest to return to the Wheel Clan
  • The player has him WAIT (rather than disband) outside of the entrance of the Wheel Clan while they speak to the guards about him
  • The player then has him stop waiting

Special Follower Considerations

• Adding Thorvald to the party makes his rescue quest become unavailable
• Thorvald is a "free" follower, as he does not take up a slot
• Taking him to the Wheel Clan grants no XP
• Thorvald will leave the party if they take too long to get to the Wheel Clan
• If he is made into a Regular Follower then he will constantly complain about it
• Cynthia Boggs will not travel with him unless she is added first

Interactions

• As a quest NPC, Thorvald can be interrogated either DEAD or alive.
• As a follower, Thorvald's dialogue menu is limited to him expressing his desire for a quick return to the Wheel Clan.
• He has special dialogue when visiting the Wheel Clan if he is properly returned home.

Background

Thorvald Two Stones is a member of the Wheel Clan. Unknown to the rest of his clan, he was sent to the Isle of Despair Penal Colony 100 years ago for killing a Gnome in a pub brawl. He has since made himself the leader of the encampment, but harbors hope of returning home someday.
